This blog explores the relationship between typography, memory, and place through the lens of graveyards. What may seem like silent spaces begin to reveal layers of meaning when read more closely, as inscriptions carry traces of design, craft, and cultural identity.

In this way, the work of the stonemason begins to mirror that of the graphic designer. Both shape letterforms with intention, considering form, spacing, and material to communicate meaning. Each gravestone reflects the visual language of its time, turning these spaces into quiet records of history and human expression.
